The Witcher Enhanced Edition – Project Mersey

Dec 12, 2021 | Translation

Dear witcher fans,

fortunately, I had the opportunity to help with Project Mersey, which is a great collection of several fixes for The Witcher – Enhanced Edition. My dear colleague Grandvel – who worked on the Russian localization and the correction of some Polish lines – drew my attention to this modification, because some lines were missing proper Hungarian translation.

The author of the mod, who goes under the nickname of Mersey Rockoff, created these fixes for the first witcher game. There are several lines of journal entries and other cut content, which was removed by CD Projekt Red due to bugs or lack of time. The author of the mod put a lot of time and effort to carefully restore these cut content and implement them into the game world. As a result, the first witcher game is even richer and extended with little details that give more life to it. My part in this project was to write the proper translation of some restored lines that were missing in Hungarian.

At the moment of the writing of this blog post – Project Mersey had over 80 bug fixes, restored content and quality of life updates – all carefully implemented into The Witcher Enhanced Edition. I can wholeheartedly recommend the using of this modification.

Big shout out to the mod author – Project Mersey can be downloaded from this link:

Mersey also makes fixes for The Witcher 2 & 3. He restored several other cut content for these games too, so if you are playing any of the witcher games, check out his profile.

Grandvel, I would like to say thank you for bringing my attention to this nice modification. Also, congratulations on the Russian and Polish part. Grandvel helped me to get into contact with the author and transferred my lines to Mersey. We worked together on the Masquerade and currently we are working on the new version of the Entrapped. He made several translations for other modifications for The Witcher 3 too, so be sure to check out his site.
